AFL NSW/ACT 2008 Regional Championships Print E-mail
NSW/ACTThis long weekend, June 7 to 9, 12 Australia Football Leagues from across NSW and ACT will come together in Wagga to compete in the 2008 (NSW/ACT) Regional Championships.

The highly anticipated event, which is being held for the first time in 20 years, will provide a weekend of hotly contested footy action to help celebrate 150 years of Australian Football.

The 12 sides have been selected to represent the best from each league across NSW and ACT, and following an intense few weeks of training and selection trials, the huge crowd expected in Wagga over the weekend will no doubt be treated to a showcase of high quality representative football.

The action will kick off on Saturday with the sides divided into three pools of four, with each league set to play three games throughout the day. Due to the high number of clashes each team will face, the matches will be shortened to 20 minutes halves.

On Sunday, leagues from each pool will play off in a final match to determine their overall position in the Regional Championships. The final games will be played with twenty minute quarters.

To celebrate be championships, an official function will be held on the Saturday night at the Rulz Club. The winners from each pool will be recognised along with the announcement of the best and fairest for each league.

All matches will be played at Maher Oval, Robertson Oval and McPherson Oval.
