Picola & District FLYarroweyah v Berrigan Both sides will see a chance to pinch a rare win here and a highly competitive game should be expected.

Berrigan will be disappointed in last weeks’ showing following a great effort the week before when it pushed Katandra.  Yarroweyah meanwhile have struggled along putting game time into their kids which will bode well for the future however has made for some solid hidings this year.  The Hoppers will be optimistic that a win is possible in this game and it’s experienced performers in Jim Daniel and Chris Cheong will be vital to the cause.  While Berrigan were overwhelmed last week, it has gained a reputation this year for determined performances and should the Saints come ready to play they should start favourites and run out winners by 25 points.

Jerilderie v Mathoura
The Demons pumped Yarrowoyah last week led by a huge 14 goal haul from Aaron Purcell and he will yet again be the key to their fortunes.  Mathoura have won two in a row and will hope that a third straight win isn’t beyond them. The Timbercutters have enough class in Tim Sparey, Nathan O’Callaghan & Shane Railton to trouble the Demons but with Purcell, Josh Whitty & Brad Parker all playing good footy, Jerilderie should be too strong and win by 17 points.

Deni Rovers v Katunga
Katunga pulled off one of the upsets of the season last week to keep their season alive and the win must be a huge boost to the club after a pretty tough previous month.  This will be a great game between teams only a game apart in 6th and 7th spot.  The midfield battle will be intruiging with Katunga’s Matt Wellington in great form opposed to the super consistent Rover Ash Germano.  Rovers’ forward targets in Terry Lumbar and David Leetham are in good touch and throw in Marc Braybon and coach Josh Bode and the Roos have multiple avenues to the scoreboard.  Selecting a winner is difficult but have to stick with the Rovers who have been a little more consistent too win by 2 goals.

Katandra v Picola Utd
Picola Utd ran into a brilliant Tungamah last week and they won’t get a lot of respite here against the hard running Kats who come off their narrow loss to Katunga last week. After a near miss the week before versus Berrigan, Kats coach Derek Hall will be hoping his charges can stop the wheels from wobbling and they can use this game to springboard into the run home to the finals.  The Blues are struggling with injury and form and seem a little undermanned and while they should see some hope in Katandra’s slightly ‘off’ recent form, the Kats should be too strong and win by 19 points.

Tungamah v Blighty
The Tungamah machine keeps on rolling and looking more and more like a premiership combination.  They touched up Picola Utd last week and Blighty will need to hold on for dear life to avoid the same fate here.  The Redeyes’ cause won’t be helped if premier bigman Paul Scoullar succumbs to a back injury suffered last week.  The Bears have class on every line and their decision making and skill level is first class.  Expect Tungamah to overwhelm the Redeyes with their midfield run and multiple forward targets.  Tungamah by 6 goals.

Dookie Utd v Strathmerton
Strathy were exposed by Waaia’s pace and hardness at the footy last week and Dog coach Steve Dickinson will have stressed to his troops the need to rise to the occasion when playing fellow finals’ aspirants.  The reigning premier is going well without attracting too much attention and proved far too strong for Blighty last week.  The nidfield battle will be excellent too watch with Luke LeBroq, Brendan Briggs and Peter O’Donnell all in form for Dookie Utd and Strathy will need wig efforts from Nathan Foote, Brent Davis and Andrew Taylor to overcome ‘the Dooks’.  Strathy will bounce back but whether it matches the class of it’s opponent remains to be seen.  Hard to go past Dookie Utd to record a win by 15 points.

Waaia v Katamatite
The Bombers were awesome last week in disposing of Strathy and will look to continue that form here. The Bomber runners in Chris Armstrong and Sam Richardson and Rob Bradbury give them drive and the Meyland boys give them leading targets.  The Bombers may be without the important Dave Gilmore who hurt an ankle last week but one feels Waaia are going too well to let this one slip away.  Katamatite will give their usual determined effort and will still be eyeing a top eight spot but just feel the Bombers may be too strong in what is a huge weekend for the Waaia club.  Bombers by 5 goals.

Shepp East v Wunghnu
Shepp East sit in eighth spot and will be determined not too let this game slip.  Wunghnu while not yet posting a win, is certainly headed in the right direction and if they can hold onto their talented crop of youngsters they could be headed up the ladder in the next few seasons.  This week however the Maggies may struggle against an Eagles’ line up with much at stake.  Wunghnu can be in this game in patches but Shepp East will run away and win by 29 points.
