A first year player with South Bendigo, 21-year-old Megan Heffer has offered her umpiring services to the club and has been a regular official of A Grade games all season earning her the Bendigo Bank Netball Personality of the Week award for Round 16.

BENDIGO BANK NETBALL PERSONALITY OF THE WEEK ROUND 16

MEGAN HEFFER, SOUTH BENDIGO

Originally from Barham, Megan is a second year nursing student at Latrobe University.  Last season she enjoyed playing netball with Loddon Valley Netball Association Club, Bears Lagoon Serpentine but with encouragement from friend Stacey Blake joined the Bloods this season.

Megan has been umpiring for approximately seven years and won the 2005 Central Murray Rookie Umpire of the Year.  With the support of the LVNA, Megan received her C Badge at the annual testing night last year and continued on to umpire LVNA finals.

Megan’s achievement has inspired other members of her family to also umpire with her mum, Leanne obtaining her C Badge this year and her 18-year-old sister Lauren commencing her umpiring career.  The netball talents of the Heffer family continue with youngest sister Jade representing Central Murray at this year’s U13’s State Championships.

Megan will win a Bendigo Bank prize pack including a $25 voucher.
