North Gippsland FLMinor Premiers A Grade Woodside will return to the court after sitting out the first week drawing the bye.

The Wildcats dominance over the competition has been evident all season with this week’s opponent Glengarry one of two sides to inflict Woodside with their only defeats of the season.

The ledger stands at two a piece the Magpies holding the upper hand in their round two clash taking the win by two goals with the Wildcats sealing an 11 goal victory in round 13.

Knocking over Gormandale to the tune of 13 goals in the Qualifying Final Glengarry was impressive the Magpies defeating the Tigers for the first time this season.

Carrying strong form into their matches over the past month the Magpies will need to be at their best to advance to a Grand Final berth this weekend.

Pushed all the way by Glengarry last week Gormandale struggled to match the Magpies intensity and will meet Sale City who barrelled them out of the finals race last season.

The two sides have only met on the one occasion this season with the honours going the way of City by a convincing 13 goals, 55 to 42.

Putting an end to the Tigers 11 game winning streak on that day City became the first side to inflict defeat on Gormandale.

The Tigers struggled to contain City’s strong attack with goal shooter Emma Petch and City’s A grade Best and Fairest winner Candice Johnston providing headaches in the goal circle.

Sealing an emphatic victory over Rosedale in the elimination final City looked the goods, the side playing a dominating brand of netball which could be enough to get the reigning premiers over the line.

Gormandale won the luxury of drawing the week off the B Grade side set for their clash against Rosedale who proved to be too strong for Glengarry.

This week will be another tough contest for Rosedale the two teams separated by a mere 33.42 percentage points on the ladder standings in first and second respectably.

The two side’s evenness set to provide a classic battle in the second semi final.

The ledger stands at one all Gormandale convincing victors in round one while the Blues turned the tables in the second half of the season winning by one in a classic tussle.

It will be far from one way traffic both sides have plenty to prove with Gormandale’s disappointing showing in last years grand final sure to spear them on.

Glengarry and Sale City will meet in the knock out first semi final the sides sharing the points this season with one win all.

Rebounding from last weeks lose at the hands of Woodside, City burst out of the blocks in the elimination final against the Wildcats.

The Dogs blowing the lead out to 12 goals at the first change the side’s composed style of play and accurate shooting from Ellie Field aiding the side to a 12 goal victory.

This week they will need to knock over reigning premiers Glengarry who were left flat footed in a fast paced opening term against Rosedale.

Finishing top of the table in C Grade Gormandale will be aiming to secure a grand final berth.

Claiming the points in round 15 by six goals the Wildcats stand in the way of Gormandale securing a fifth consecutive grand final berth.

Dominating the C Grade competition over the past three seasons the Tigers have plenty to play for with the Wildcats the only obstacle in Gormandale securing a hat trick of premierships.

In the first semi final Cowwarr will meet Sale City the Saints claiming victory against the Dogs in their second encounter by two goals. The Dogs were impressive last week as they held of the Magpies to draw away in the final term to win by eight goals.

With their last meeting relatively close and carrying some impressive form into the match the Dogs look to have the edge to advance through to next week.

In D Grade Gormandale will meet Glengarry, the Tigers boasting convincing wins over the Magpies this season.

Travelling along undefeated there appears to be no stopping the Tigers who look set to move to a Grand Final berth and a fifth consecutive premiership.

In the do or die final Cowwarr play Woodside the two sides even on paper.

Taking the win by three goals in round 16, Cowwarr have held the edge over Woodside but with the Wildcats determination and never die attitude the stage is set for a hard fought encounter.
