West Gippsland Latrobe FLTOP-of-the-table Sale beat Moe by 46 points in the battle of the big-name West Gippsland-Latrobe League coaches on Saturday.

Former Hawthorn forward Adrian Cox is in charge at Sale, while ex-North Melbourne tagger Troy Makepeace has taken Moe from second-last last year to the top four.

Brenton Martin and Jacob Schuback kicked four goals each in the Pies' win, while Cox chipped in with one.

Cox said he did not feel any pressure coaching against a past AFL player.

"It was more just the excitement going up against an ex-AFL player," Cox said.

"It was great. Because it was my first year in this league, I had no idea what the league was like or what the guys were like. Not once did I think we'd be six-zero."

In the Mininera and District League, Hawkesdale Macarthur's Frank Matthews bagged 15 goals in the Eagles' 164-point demolition of Wickliffe Lake Bolac, while Caramut and SMW Rovers fought out an exciting draw.

Former Hawthorn player Angelo Lekkas made his debut for Sunbury in its two-point win against Darley in the Ballarat Football League.

And Murray beat Western Border by 125 points to win Pool C of the interleague country championship yesterday.

"The blokes we picked were hardball getters and had a lot of speed," coach Damian Sexton said.

"When you put that together, you're always going to have a good side."
