Gippsland
THE Gippsland League netball split round concluded with results as expected.
Top five teams Moe and Leongatha defeated Maffra and Warragul respectively on Saturday.
Moe had to work hard for its 52-43 win over the young Maffra team, which has played well against the top teams. The Lions held on to win at high standard match.
Fourth-placed Leongatha defeated bottom side Warragul 81-33.
Ladder leader Traralgon is only ahead of Morwell on percentage, with third-placed Drouin two points further behind, while Leongatha and Moe make-up the top five.
Sale is two points outside the top five with Maffra 10 points further adrift.
This Saturday, Traralgon will host Maffra, Morwell will welcome Bairnsdale, Sale will be looking to maintain the pressure on the top five when it heads to Warragul, Leongatha will travel to Moe, and Wonthaggi will host Drouin.
North Gippsland
THE race for the fifth place in the North Gippsland finals is still on, following losses for Woodside and Sale City on Saturday.
The Wildcats lost at home to fourth-placed Heyfield 45-38, while the Bulldogs lost away to Traralgon-Tyers United 31-24.
Cowwarr remains ahead of Heyfield on percentage after its 47-39 win at Gormandale.
Ladder leader Rosedale defeated Glengarry 67-46, while second-placed Churchill defeated bottom side Yarram 61-40.
East Gippsland
BOISDALE-Briagolong recorded its fourth win of the East Gippsland season, defeating Paynesville 50-24 at home.
The Bombers remain in seventh place on the ladder, while the Gulls remain without a win.
Ladder leader Stratford proved too strong for Lindenow, winning 55-34.
Second-placed Wy Yung defeated Orbost-Snowy Rovers 38-30. The loss leaves the Blues six points behind fourth-placed Lucknow with two rounds remaining before the finals.
Lucknow, in third place, defeated Lakes Entrance 60-43.
