gippflGippsland Times | SALE moved from sixth to fourth place on the Gippsland League netball ladder following a fighting 37-32 win over Moe.

In a physical match at Sale on Saturday, the Magpies led by five goals at the first change and by four at half-time. The margin was back to five after the Magpies scored 11 goals to 10 in the third term.

The sides scored seven goals each in the final quarter with the Magpies winning by five.

Individual clashes were a feature of the high standard match, which had a finals-like atmosphere as the stakes were high for both teams.

In the centre, Moe's Montana Holmes was engaged in two of the feature duels, first against Sharni Lambden and then Kate Eddy.

Leongatha is in danger of missing the finals after going down to Drouin 53-50. In fifth place, ahead of Moe on percentage, the Parrots will play Morwell in the final round this weekend, while Moe will host Bairnsdale.

Drouin moved into second place, two points behind top side Traralgon, with its win and will head to Sale this weekend.

Seventh-placed Maffra recorded its seventh win of the season, defeating bottom side Warragul 54-23.

Morwell fell to third place after its 49-37 home loss to Traralgon on Sunday.
