THE A-grade netball team from Lockington-Bamawm United caused a stunning upset in Saturday’s play in the Heathcote District Football Netball League.

LBU teamed superbly on its court to end North Bendigo’s unbeaten run.

After a streak of 13 consecutive wins, North Bendigo battled to halt LBU’s attacking play. 

The Cats went on to win 49-41 in  the season’s 16th round. 

Mount Pleasant withstood a spirited challenge from Leitchville-Gunbower.

The Blues won 41-36 on the Gunbower court.

Huntly moved above Elmore on the ladder after the Hawks scored a nine-goal win away from home.

The Huntly Hawks won 33-24 on Elmore’s court.

Fourth-placed White Hills had too much firepower for Heathcote.

The Demons fired up to win 62-13 at Prendergast Oval in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve.

After its first loss of the season, North Bendigo will be on the rebound in next Saturday’s home game against Leitchville-Gunbower.

Huntly hosts Lockington-Bamawm United, White Hills takes on Elmore, and Colbainbbin plays Heathcote.

Mount Pleasant has the bye.

Meanwhile, Bridgewater stunned Mitiamo in the 15th round of A-grade matches in the Loddon Valley Football Netball League.

Although the third-placed Mitiamo had home-court advantage it was Bridgewater which took the points.

A 48-42 win for Bridgewater kept the heat on Miti in the fight for the double chance in the finals.

The ladder-leading Calivil United beat Marong by 36 goals.

YCW won 55-31 against Newbridge at Backhaus Oval. 

Pyramid Hill beat Bears Lagoon-Serpentine by 30 goals.

In next Saturday’s round, Newbridge plays Mitiamo at Riverside Park, Bears Lagoon-Serpentine face Marong, Inglewood take on YCW, and Bridgewater clashes with Pyramid Hill. Marong has the bye.
