myrtlefordBorder Mail |MYRTLEFORD co-coach Brad Murray has received some bad news on the injury front.

Medicos have informed the star midfielder that his AC joint is in the ‘wrong spot’, but won’t require surgery after his incident last weekend against the Wangaratta Rovers.

The best-case scenario for Murray is a four-match lay-off, but with just five games left in the home-and-away season, Murray’s year is most likely over.

“Best case is I can be back in four weeks, worst-case is I’m done for the year,” Murray said.

“Depending on how it feels and how smoothly rehab goes, (but) I will be trying to get back to play.”

Murray’s injury is another blow for the Alpine Saints, who are on the bottom of the ladder and have to pick themselves up after last week’s shattering 77-point home loss to the Hawks.

Myrtleford travels to Yarrawonga on Saturday, with their back-line boosted by the return of Luke Chapman and Hamish Leahy.
