The Hume league was seen by most, particularly those from the border, as superior to the O&K, and had assembled one of its strongest representative line-ups in years.

The O&K, by contrast, was missing plenty of first choice stars, and entered the game with a remarkably undersized attack.

And they went into the final term trailing by 37 points.

Having kicked just four goals for the day up to that point, O&K piled on eight in the last quarter to record an incredible six-point victory.
