The Courier | SPRINGBANK premiership captain Chris Quinlan has jumped ship to Ballarat Football League club East Point.
The 27-year-old, a former East Ballarat junior, joins the Kangaroos with less than a month remaining until the start of the season.
Quinlan led Springbank to last year's Central Highlands Football League grand final triumph over Gordon.
He joins brother-in-law Luke Fall at East Point and told The Courier he wanted to take on new challenges.
"You always want to push yourself," Quinlan said.
"East haven't won a grand final in the seniors yet. I want to be part of their first premiership.
"Leaving Springbank was one of the toughest things I've had to do, especially with my brother (Simon) still being there. And I think Springbank are a good chance for another flag this year, so it's hard to turn away from, but I didn't want to second-guess myself during the season."
The acquisition of Quinlan suits East Point's emphasis on having a versatile playing group, given his ability to play in multiple positions.
