Taylors LakeWimmera-Mail Times| TAYLORS Lake cemented its fourth-place spot on the ladder with a good win over Noradjuha-Quantong at the weekend.

The Lakers hit the ground running in the first quarter and were up by eight goals at the long break.

The Bombers had a great last quarter, booting five goals to the Lakers’ three.

However it was not enough to take control of the game and the final score was 16.15 (111) to 10.12 (72).

Playing coach Deek Roberts was the side’s leading goal-kicker, booting five majors, landing himself in the team’s best-player list for the day.

Roberts said it was good to get another win on the board.

“We played a lot better than the past couple of weeks,” he said.

“But our skills still weren’t high and while the pressure was good, there were lapses in effort.

“We need to continue what we are doing well and pick up our skills, but overall we are looking good.”

Dylan Carroll was also a standout for the Lakers, coming back into the team after injury.

“Steve Stonehouse probably play his best game for the year,” Roberts said.

He said injuries would be an issue going forward.

“We lost a couple of guys to hamstring injuries and they will probably be out the next few weeks,” he said.

For the Bombers, Shane Oakley kicked two goals and was named in the side’s best.

Todd Klemm, Jason Kerr and Tyler Snowden also performed well.
