The Blues replaced Merrivale in fifth spot after dismantling East Warrnambool 17.20 (122) to 4.5 (29) on Saturday.

A seven-goal-to-nil opening term set up the comfortable victory. Jack Primmer booted a game-high four majors and best-on-ground James Willsher kicked three.

Nirranda coach Shane Threlfall was pleased with the Blues’ fast start but lamented goal kicking inaccuracy.

“We’ve had some slow starts this year so it was pleasing to hit the scoreboard early,” he said.
