CAMPBELL Brown hasn't ruled out another appearance for Ballan after a narrow defeat in his high-profile debut for the Blues on Saturday.

The Hawthorn premiership player and former Gold Coast Sun told The Courier he would love to make time during a busy media schedule for a return to the Central Highlands Football League later in the season.

"I'll have to check what the plans are because I'm fairly busy on Saturday nights doing a few interstate games, but I'm sure that (Ballan coach) Mark (Williams) and I will keep in contact throughout the season and I might come back up for a game," Brown said after the Blues' five-point defeat to Waubra.

"The boys made me feel really welcome and they are a great bunch of guys so I really enjoyed it, but just a bit disappointed we couldn't get the four points.

"I definitely wouldn't rule (a return) out. I wouldn't mind coming back and playing (Waubra) again. Get revenge."

Brown, drawn to the club through his association with Williams, who he played in a Hawks flag with in 2008, didn't set the game alight, but did show glimpses of his class throughout the day. He was closely marked by the Roos, but still offered a target up forward and did plenty of good things during the day. He missed out on a goal, but took the focus off some of the Blues' other forwards, who were able to have an influence on the match.

"It was really good. I thought both teams had a crack and put their bodies on the line," Brown said.

"We changed a few things up at half time which we needed to address and we got back into the game.

"We really fought the game out and had a couple of chances to pinch it late, which we didn't take. All in all it was a good game of footy."

The Central Highlands league now breaks for Easter, with round three set to kick off with two Anzac Day games on Friday, April 25.
