AFLcountryWeekly Times | IT REMAINS unclear what benefits from the AFL’s record broadcasting deal will filter down to grassroots football in Victoria.

The code’s governing body yesterday announced a six-year deal, commencing in 2017, with Channel 7, Foxtel and Telstra worth $2.5 billion.

An AFL Victoria spokesman said AFL funds had in the past been used for facility developments and to employ staff in regional areas.

“AFL Victoria looks forward to continued investment by the AFL in our programs, resources and facilities at all levels across the state,” AFL Victoria general manager Steven Reaper said.
