AFLcountryWeekly Times | PLAYER point allocations under AFL Victoria’s new policy can now be viewed online.

AFL Victoria announced today that the allocations were live on websites for community football competitions across Victoria.

Already the allocations for players whose teams have entered their selections for this weekend’s games can be viewed on their Fox Sports Pulse pages.

The number of points teams used in previous rounds can also be viewed.

The allocations are listed under a new player points tab in the match centre section.

The player points allocations were expected to be available online from the start of the season, and AFL Victoria told The Weekly Times two weeks ago it anticipated them to be online on April 16-17.

“In recent weeks, Fox Sports Pulse has been working to provide display of the player points allocations for selected teams across all leagues affiliated to AFL Victoria using the Player Points Policy,” AFL Victoria said in a statement.

“After resolving a number of technical issues, AFL Victoria is pleased to announce the online player points allocations is now in place.”

The player points policy seeks to limit player transfers and recruitment and promote junior retention and development.

All senior players are allocated a value based on their playing history, with starting values of 1-6 points, and teams have a limit on the number of points they can use to make up a senior team.

“It has been AFL Victoria’s aim throughout that there is transparency in the system and this function is an important step in achieving this,” it said.
