SEN | Avid North Melbourne fan and former Australian cricket captain, Ricky Ponting, has urged the Kangaroos to target current Sydney coach John Longmire.

Longmire has been linked to the vacant Roos job with reports indicating he will be offered a multi-million dollar deal to prise him out of the Swans, where he is contracted until the end of 2020.

Speaking on SEN Breakfast, Ponting would love to see Longmire – a 200-game champion and 1999 premiership player with North – return to Arden Street in a coaching capacity.
