GEELONG AND DISTRICT: Werribee Central ruckman Mark Brunato will reach the coveted 300 games today when he runs out against Cairo at Galvin Park. Article first appeared: 14 July 2007 Herald Sun
Brunato is the first person to achieve the milestone for the club.
The 37-year-old switched from soccer in 1991 and hasn't looked back.
A keen clubman, Brunato has won six club reserve best-and-fairests and one league reserve best-and-fairest in 2000.
Brunato has played in five reserve premiership sides and one senior premiership.
Finn an umpiring pioneer
HAMPDEN: Umpire Anthony Finn will chalk up his 750th game today when he officiates the Port Fairy reserves and South Warrnambool game at Port Fairy.
Finn, a talented junior footballer with two premierships and 200 games under his belt, started his umpiring career more than 20 years ago.
He has since umpired in 12 leagues and officiated in two grand finals.
But the 57-year-old's greatest achievement was umpiring an Indigenous All-Stars game in Moama starring Brisbane Lion Chris Johnson, Essendon's Che Cockatoo-Collins and Footscray footballer Allan Thorpe.
"I've got a few problems with my knees these days, so I figure it might be time to pull the pin after this season," Finn said.
"I hope my involvement in football will encourage other youngsters to join umpiring."

MID GIPPSLAND: Former Geelong and Carlton star Adrian Hickmont will be the guest speaker at tonight's Newborough Football Club past players' reunion.
Hickmont, who now coaches Gippsland Power, played 50 games for Geelong and more than 100 games for Carlton in the 1990s.
The former Horsham player will speak at the Newborough clubrooms from 7.30pm after the Bulldogs host Trafalgar.
Return of the Tiger Rag
