SEYMOUR has moved a game clear of third-placed Shepparton Swans after defeating the Swans by 10 points on Saturday, 18.13 (121) to 16.15 (111).
VCFL match-winner Saad Saad backed up last weekend's win against the VAFA with a seven-goal haul for Seymour in the Goulburn Valley League.
The two sides were on-song in the first quarter with Seymour trailing by a point at the first break. The Swans extended their lead to eight points before halftime, but Seymour fought back with five goals in the third quarter to level the scores.
It was goal-for-goal in the final term until Seymour broke away.
Echuca caused an upset on Saturday with a nine-goal drubbing of fourth-ranked Euroa, 18.18 (126) to 9.12 (66). Echuca held a one-goal lead at halftime but the Bombers stacked on 12.11 (83) in the second half.
