Mansfield onballer and four-time runner-up Trent Hotton polled 18 votes to win the league best-and-fairest.
Seymour centre Paul Scanlon finished with 21 votes, but was ineligible because of a one-game suspension in Round 16.
Hotton played 78 games for Carlton and Collingwood from 1994-2002.
His teammate Matt Storer and Echuca's Adrian Dohnt finished equal second with 17 votes.
Benalla youngster Christophe Dube won the reserve's Abikhair Medal and David Ferrier, from Echuca, took home the Pattison Medal in the under-18 competition.

BAIRNSDALE: Collingwood legend Peter Daicos will join fans at tomorrow's East Gippsland grand final.

The league will also host its first D Grade netball grand final.
BENDIGO: Today's preliminary final between Gisborne and South Bendigo will be played under lights at Queen Elizabeth Oval.
The game was originally scheduled for 2.15pm, but was pushed back to 6.30pm in anticipation of a bumper crowd.
The move comes after other footy leagues around Victoria successfully launched night games this year to help make up for the delayed start to the season, which was caused by the drought.
Bendigo Football League will host its grand final next Sunday after the AFL grand final on Saturday.
Goulburn Valley Football League and the Mornington Peninsula Nepean league will also play their grand finals next Sunday.
WEST GIPPSLAND: Sale is out to end a 21-year premiership drought when it plays reigning premier Maffra in today's West Gippsland league grand final at Traralgon.
