Former Australian Netballer Shelley O’Donnell and Melbourne Vixens player Wendy Jacobsen made the trip to Gippsland to be involved in the WorkSafe ‘Game of the Month’ hosted by Heyfield Football Netball Club.The day including a junior clinic for 30 lucky netballers, a exhibiton match of Access All Abilities Netball and a guest speaking role by O’Donnell and Jacobsen at the WorkSafe luncheon for more than 50 guests.
Following the clinic and luncheon, guests convened at the A Grade Match between Heyfield and Cowwarr, with the Kangaroos claiming an emphatic home victory, 41 to 32.
The win elevating Heyfield to equal first on the ladder standings, as they continue to dominate the competition.
A number of ‘Game of the Month’ events are held throughout the WorkSafe Country Netball League season and are a great vehicle for netball clubs to raise their profile in the community and for WorkSafe to deliver their messages of workplace safety throughout rural and regional Victoria.
Gormandale handed Sale City their second loss in as many weeks the Tigers too strong coming away 15 goal victors.
The Magpies claimed their fourth win of the season against a competitive Boisdale unit who tested Glengarry throughout the match, 51 to 42.
Stratford and TTU fought out a close contest the Bombers holding the edge in the later stages of the match to win by six goals.
Reigning premiers Woodside continued their solid form with a comfortable win at home 48 to Rosedale 31.
