GEORGINA HYETT, KANGAROO FLAT
Kangaroo Flat’s Georgina Hyett is the latest recipient of the CVGT Rising Star award. Recruited from Boomerangs Netball Club in 2008, Georgie joined the Roos following in the footsteps of her two sisters, Noni and Nerida.
Georgie has enjoyed success at squad level having been involved with the Bendigo Football Netball League’s 2008 15/Under squad and again in this season’s 17/Under squad. Georgie is also a member of Netball Victoria’s Northern Zone Academy. A keen sportswoman, Georgie enjoys domestic basketball as well as athletics.
A defender with the Flat’s 17/Under team, Georgie’s coach Carol Bingham described her as “not tall but what she lacks in height she makes up for in determination”. It’s all any coach could ask for.

BENDIGO BANK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LAUREN MITCHELL, MARYBOROUGH FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB
A third year player with the Maryborough Football Netball Club, Lauren Mitchell is proving to be a valuable member of the club. Relocating from interstate to Maryborough, Lauren quickly joined the club and has been active both on and off the court.
Providing leadership to the young B Grade team, Lauren has also provided great support to the coach as team manager for the past two years. For the past two seasons Lauren has also been the netball club secretary working hard to ensure jobs are completed and that the netball runs smoothly on both home and away games.
Lauren has been a real asset to the club providing support to everyone involved and her contribution to her club is greatly appreciated.
Lauren will receive a Bendigo Bank prize pack including a $25 voucher.
