Bendigo FNL - Rnd 8 Netball Award winners

Bendigo FLThis weeks weekly award winners for the Bendigo Football Netball League.

BENDIGO BANK PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DANIELLE WILSON, SANDHURST FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB

Not only has the Sandhurst Football Netball Club benefitted from the talents of Danielle Wilson but so have a number of other clubs as well as the Bendigo Football Netball League.

An A Grade player with the Dragons, 16 year-old Danielle lives and breathes netball.  She plays with Booroondara Genesis in the Victorian Netball League mid week as well as fitting in time to umpire matches.

Danielle arrived at Sandhurst last year a qualified C Badge umpire.   Her talents off court has led to officiating a number of games for her club as well as being available for other clubs including Golden Square Football Netball Club and Bridgewater Football Netball Club.

Recently Danielle umpired at the Wm LOUD (Aust) Pty Ltd zone championships hosted by the Bendigo Football Netball League gaining more experience in her quest to improve her umpiring.

Umpiring can be quite a formidable task yet Danielle takes it all in her stride.  Danielle will receive a Bendigo Bank prize pack including a $25 voucher.

CVGT RISING STAR

KATE GROSE, SANDHURST FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB

Kate Grose has achieved quite a bit in her short time with the Sandhurst Football Netball Club.  A second year player with the Dragons, Kate has shown maturity beyond her 16 years and was quickly elevated to the A Reserve squad for the 2009 season.

Playing in Sandhurst’s premiership team in this year’s Regional State League competition gave Kate the confidence to continue playing senior netball, one which she has excelled at this season.

A highlight to date of Kate Grose’s involvement in the Bendigo Football Netball League is premiership success in the 2008 17/Under team.

Kate’s netball developed significantly last year with involvement in Netball Victoria’s Northern Zone Academy and the BFNL’s 17U representative squad.

Kate’s primary role is at wing attack and her direct style of play has become an essential part of Sandhurst’s winning combination.

Congratulations Kate on your CVGT Rising Star nomination.
