GRADEY MCNICOL, STRATHFIELDSAYE FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB
Joining the Strathfieldsaye Football Netball Club in their inaugural season, Gradey McNicol has quickly involved herself in the development of the club.
A talented goaler, Gradey is invaluable to the Storm’s A Grade team leading by example on court with her innate style of goal shooting and her coolness under pressure.
Off court, Gradey is coach of the Storm’s development team which plays in the Bendigo Strathdale Netball Association on Saturday mornings. Gradey is developing the skills of her young charges who feed into the Storm’s 17/Under team throughout the season or for the seasons to come.
The Storm will be a force to be reckoned with in future years when the likes of Gradey McNicol are so active both on and off the court.
Gradey will receive a Bendigo Bank prize pack including a $25 voucher.
CVGT RISING STAR
CARLY GEARY, GOLDEN SQUARE FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB
A natural athlete Golden Square’s Carly Geary is enjoying an eventful 2009 season.
Having played her junior netball with the Falcons Netball Club 15 year old Carly joined Golden Square in 2008 and is a second year player in the 17/Under team. Success in last year’s Bendigo Football Netball League 15/Under representative squad led to a position in Netball Victoria’s Northern Zone Academy squad for 2009.
Next month Carly will represent Victoria at the School Sport Australia Netball Championships in Canberra.
Carly has achieved quite a bit in sport including representing Victoria in basketball and shot put. Her achievements to date are a testament to natural talent and hard work. Not only does the Golden Square Football Netball Club benefit from Carly’s skills but so does the Bendigo Football Netball League as it continues to grow stronger.
Congratulations Carly on your CVGT Rising Star nomination and happy birthday for Saturday, 20 June.
