This weeks weekly award winners for the Bendigo Football Netball League.CVGT RISING STAR
OLIVIA THOMAS, SANDHURST FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB
Having played with the Sandhurst Football Netball Club in its’ 17/Under team in the Regional State League competition in January this year, Olivia Thomas chose to continue the partnership and thus began her Bendigo Football Netball League career. It has been a win/win situation for both player and the club.
Olivia played her junior netball with Southside Netball Club in the Golden City Netball Association and has developed into a versatile player. Her strength is in the midcourt where she provides clean drives into attack and reads the play exceptionally well. Upon occasion Olivia can be called upon to play in defence adding another dimension to her team’s line up.
Olivia’s netball achievements to date include Golden City Netball Association representative team selection in both 13/Under and 15/Under (2 years); captain of Regional team and Olivia was also a member of the BFNL’s 17/Under representative team this year.
With her team placed first on the ladder, Olivia is sure to be a prominent feature come the finals.
Congratulations Olivia on your CVGT Rising Star nomination.
BENDIGO BANK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BREANNA LEA, SOUTH BENDIGO FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB
The South Bendigo Football Netball Club recognises that new recruit Breanna Lea is a great asset to the club. Recruited from Calivil United in the Loddon Valley League, Breanna is a centre court player in the club’s A Grade team giving 100% on the court each week.
A badged umpire, Breanna is willing to assist her club by officiating in one of the other grades on a regular basis. Not content to remain just courtside, Breanna also volunteered to be a member of the club’s social committee to ensure that all members of the club enjoy the social environment on offer.
Breanna is a keen member of her club willing to assist in any way possible and the South Bendigo Football Netball Club are more than happy to have such a dedicated member.
Breanna will receive a Bendigo Bank prize pack including a $25 voucher.
