BENDIGO BANK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BREANNA THOMAS EAGLEHAWK FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB

A product of the Golden City Netball Association, Breanna Thomas joined the Eaglehawk Football Netball Club this season and availed herself to her club in a variety of roles.  The most significant role, apart from player, is that of umpire.

A member of the Hawk’s B Grade team, 18 year-old Breanna earned her C Badge in 2008.  Breanna has umpired not only for the Eaglehawk Football Netball Club but the Sandhurst Football Netball Club as well.  Breanna umpired her first A Grade match last Saturday between South Bendigo and Sandhurst.

Breanna will receive a Bendigo Bank prize pack including a $25 voucher for her contribution to netball in Bendigo.

CVGT RISING STAR

GRACE LAUDER, SOUTH BENDIGO FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB

A quiet achiever on and off the netball court, South Bendigo’s goal shooting dynamo Grace Lauder is showing signs of soon becoming a regular senior player.

Grace joined the South Bendigo Football Netball Club in 2008 having completed her junior netball with the Falcons Netball Club.  Achievements at junior level included three years as a member of the Bendigo Strathdale Netball Association representative squad as well as coaching a Falcons primary team.

Grace has been honing her skills on a Wednesday night in the Flora Hill netball competition playing with Cascades in Division One.

This season senior coach Justine Fitzgibbon recognised Grace’s potential and gave her the chance to play a couple of A Grade matches.  It was an opportunity that Grace relished.  During these games Grace became more confident in her positioning and goaling and this has assisted her when playing back in the 17/Under team.

Congratulations Grace on your CVGT Rising Star nomination.
