The match between undefeated ladder leaders Heyfield and fourth placed Rosedale lived up to all expectations with the physical contest providing a taste of finals action.
The final term was an epic contest which saw three injury timeouts in the final 10 minutes of the match, with the lead exchanging hands on a number of occasions.
Two goals down with the clock counting down against them Heyfield charged back to draw level.
A turnover by the Blues attack saw the Heyfield defence look to drill the ball forward, however the final whistle sounded with scores locked at 39 a piece.
TTU proved too strong for their Bombers counterparts Boisdale claiming the points by 14 goals.
Sale City returned to the winners list with a comfortable victory over Churchill, 50 to 39.
On Sunday second placed Tigers were 16 goal victors over the lesser ranked Magpies.
