An evenly contested first quarter with neither team giving the slightest amount for movement on court. Every ball was hard to gain possession of.
The Flat's Nina Cass was strong in the goal circle and difficult to contain. Linzzi Young at goal defence applied constant pressure forcing Eaglehawk to move the ball around to gain inroads into attack.
Tanya Hanley at wing defence was a shining light for Eaglehawk making her opponent double her efforts tor front position.
After the first quarter, Kangaroo Flat added a few more goals on to the board each quarter to win comfortably by 14 goals.

SANDHURST:
Brooke Bolton, Keely McDonald, Darcey Cole
MATCH REPORT:
Kangaroo Flat got out to a good lead early in the match to set up a match winning margin that was hard to break. The Flat's defensive unit of Bronte Deary and Monica Wellington made it difficult for Sandhurst to move the ball into the goal circle and when rebounds were on offer, took possession.
Flat's Rachel Mackenzie (22 goals) was a focal point in and out of the goal circle with her opponent, Brooke Bolton, ensure each ball was contested.
Seven goals down at quarter time, Sandhurst was forced to make changes and Keely McDonald moved from goal keeper to goal shooter and then goal attack and was major influence on her team bringing the margin at three quarter time back to 3 goals.
Kangaroo Flat held strong and with accuracy in the goal circle were 7 goal winners.
