The MECU Ballarat Football League U/16 Interleague side has been invited to play AFL Cairns in a one off match at Sunbury's Clarke Oval under lights on Saturday 10th April 2010.
The match will commence at 8:00am and will be the first competitive match to be played under the newly installed lights at Clarke Oval.
BFL CEO Rod Ward said, "This is a fantastic opportunity that has presented itself for some of our U/16 kids to play against a quality opposition in AFL Cairns. We are also extremely excited about showcasing the upgraded lights at Clarke Oval which will continue to be key feature in BFL senior matches in years to come."
BFL U/16 Interleague Coach Greg Stewart said, "This is a great initiative and a fantastic opportunity for a number of players to represent their league against some quality opposition. For some players, this will be their first time representing their league and I think they are as excited about the match as we are."
Last night at the side's first of two training sessions, the final squad was announced that will take on AFL Cairns. The following players will represent the Ballarat Football League on Saturday 10th April:

The U/16 match against AFL Cairns will be preceded by a U/18.5 practice match between the Bacchus Marsh FC and the Melton South FC. This match will start at 5:30pm.
