The Ballarat Football League would like to congratulate BFUA Umpire Justin Davey for his selection as one of the Central Umpires to officiate at this week's Australian Country Football Championships in Canberra.
Justin has been one of the BFUA's most consistent Umpires since returning to the organisation in 2009 after an extended period out of the game. Being awarded the most outstanding Umpire award (the BFUA's equivalent to the Henderson Medal) in his first year back, Justin has enjoyed an extended period of success that has resulted in his selection for the 2010 Australian Country Football Championships.
The largest contingent of WorkSafe VCFL umpires ever to attend an interstate Australian Country Football Championships have been appointed to the Landmark ACFC in Canberra.
Four field umpires, two boundary and two goal umpires will be travelling with the WorkSafe VCFL Senior and District representative teams and participating as part of the umpiring panel which will have umpires representing each of the competing states.
The field umpires selected are;
• Paul Trotter - Geelong Football Umpires League
• Justin Davey - Ballarat Football Umpires Association
• Cameron Pickering - Wimmera Football Umpires Association
• Casey O'Keefe - Warrnambool & District Football Umpires Association
Boundary Umpires;
• Jarrod McPhee - Yarra Ranges Umpires Association
• Travis Weber - Colac Umpires Association
Goal Umpires;
• Dylan Benwell - Southern Umpires Association
• Matthew Richardt - Southern Umpires Association
All of the WorkSafe VCFL umpires are wished the best of luck in their endeavours to perform to a high standard and potentially be recognised as the All Australian Umpire at the end of the Championships.
