2010 Lexton Plains FL - rnd 15

Lexton PLains FLNavarre has probably lost its chance of a top three finish in the Kingprint Lexton Plains Football League.

The Grasshoppers were blown out of the water by reigning premier Skipton at Navarre Saturday, 2.7 (19) to 10.19 (79).

The Emus won the toss, kicked with the wind and kept Navarre scoreless in the opening term.

Even with the wind Navarre struggled to get the ball into the forward line, with Skipton consistently first to the ball and finishing off strongly.

This has been Skipton's trait for the year having lost just two final quarters for the season.

Bryce Tickner was best for Navarre while Tim Beacham and Adam Slater each booted four Skipton goals.

Navarre must regroup from the loss quickly.

Skipton has one more game before taking a break in the first week of finals.

GOALS, Skipton: Tim Beacham 4, Adam Slater 4, Danny George 1, Kiernan Molloy 1
Navarre: Ben Scott 1, Campbell Ross 1
BEST, Skipton: Joel Riske, Adam Slater, Scott Fletcher, Lachy Wilkie, Jamie McKay, Danny George
Navarre: Bryce Tickner, Nathan Ringin, Jeremy Harrington, Tom Newton, Ben Scott, Matt Newton

Rokewood-Corindhap held Carngham-Linton at bay, registering a narrow but important five point win 12.16 (88) to 13.5 (83).

The Saints could not find the front in a frantic final term.

The Grasshoppers led at each break but by less than ten points at each.

Rokewood-Corindhap coach Tom Mullane-Grant went off early in the opening term and failed to reappear with a possible chest injury.

Xavier Ryan booted six goals for the winners, while Jeremy Phelan slotted four for the Saints.

The win has almost certainly secured a top three position for Rokewood-Corindhap.

Carngham-Linton is not far off the pace but is running out of time until finals fever hits.

GOALS, Rokewood-Corindhap: Xavier Ryan 6, Carl Matheson 1, Matt Chapman 1, Callan Anderson 1, Jason Hutchins 1, Denis Biscan 1, Jesse Wellington 1
Carngham-Linton: Jeremy Phelan 4, Clint Ladiges 3, Jason Hill 2, Jake Haeusler 2, Damon Aspland 1, Jeff Rosolin 1
BEST, Rokewood-Corindhap: Cam Griffith, Jesse Wellington, Callan Anderson, Simon Bogie, Stuart Matheson, Shaun Carroll
Carngham-Linton: Mitch Giddings, James Templeton, Jeremy Phelan, Damon Aspland, Tom Magee, James Rayner

Lexton bolstered its percentage with a 178 point win over a hapless Ararat Eagles, 27.18 (180) to 0.2 (2).

Eamon Johnson and Ryan Dunstan kicked five goals each in a goal fest for the finals bound Tigers.

Ararat was best served by Richard O'Connell in a game the Eagles will quickly want to forget.

A number of changes from last week's team would not have helped the Eagles with stability within the team necessary for a successful year.

Lexton, similar to Rokewood-Corindhap, has seemingly done enough to secure the double chance.

GOALS, Lexton: Eamon Johnson 5, Ryan Dunstan 5, Tim Oliver 4, Lloyd Bennett 4, Nic Locandro 4, Lachy Pryor 2, Cohan Poulton 1, Hugh Briody 1, Jay Robins 1
BEST, Lexton: Matt Torpey, Matt Stasse, Trevor Johnson, Eamon Johnson, Rob Mosby, Tim Oliver
Ararat Eagles: Richard O'Connell, Jack Marney, Nick Bulger, Luke Foster, Zac Thomas, Lachie Bond

Illabarook made it two wins from three encounters against Natte-Bealiba at Natte Yallock Saturday, scoring a strong seven point win, 11.7 (73) to 10.6 (66).

Though the margin does not suggest this, the Bulldogs had the game in its keeping before a late surge by the Swans saw them narrow the gap.

But it was all too little too late for the home team.

Illabarook started the better, but Natte-Bealiba took control in the second term, though not on the scoreboard.

After half-time until mid way through the final term, Illabarook had complete charge of the game.

Goals were shared between nine players, with Daniel Gamble and Rick Parkinson the best with two.

Natte-Bealiba could not give its 40 year premiership reunion a win.

Nathan McClelland, Karl Morley, Steven Quinn and Stephen Ross each kicked two goals.

One game remains for both teams in the LPFL, as they both move in different directions next year.

GOALS, Illabarook: Daniel Gamble 2, Rick Parkinson 2, Ash Hardy 1, Brad Schiltz 1, James Boag 1, Joel Van Gils 1, Josh Cahill 1, Corny Cahill 1, Nathan Muscat 1
Natte-Bealiba: Stephen Ross 2, Karl Morley 2, Steven Quinn 2, Nathan McClelland 2, Jamie Andrews 1, Brayden Mason 1
BEST, Illabarook: Shannon Berriman, Daniel Gamble, Jake Cahill, Brian Lovison, Corey Spratling, Sean Webster
Natte-Bealiba: Brent Mortlock, Steven Quinn, Brayden Mills, Jamie Andrews, Nathan McClelland, Nathan Ross
