HEALESVILLE inflicted the first defeat on Silvan since late 2007 with a surprise 23.15 (153) to 13.13 (91) win. The two Yarra Valley Mountain District League clubs were undefeated heading into Saturday's clash, but seven goals to Jai Conrou and a huge game from ruckman Mark Gibb led Healesville to its third straight win.
Bloods coach Thomas Chandler said his side's intensity around the footy was telling.
"I think it was due to the fact that we played some pretty accountable footy across the ground," Chandler said. "We probably just didn't give them any room to move because they're highly skilled opposition."
Five goals to Nathan Lieshout led Warragul 15.3 (93) to a thrilling four-point come-from-behind win against West Gippsland Latrobe league rival Drouin 12.17 (89) yesterday.
The Bendigo League produced a heart-stopping finish with inaccurate kicking costing Sandhurst 7.12 (54) against Gisborne 8.7 (55) yesterday.
Eight goals from East Point captain Daniel Jordan helped his side to a 13-point Ballarat League victory against Redan.
