EAST Point survived a scare against Ballarat League cellar dweller Sebastopol on the weekend to return to the winner's list.Inaccurate kicking nearly cost the Kangaroos in windy conditions but, after a sluggish first half, the second-placed side notched a 22-point win.
"It took us a while to get going," East Point coach Michael Hynes said.
"We had a pretty frank discussion with the boys at halftime about where we were at. But in the end it was very important to get that win ahead of a bye coming up this week."
Elsewhere, six goals from Josh Baxter and five goals to Darren Little helped Hampden League front-runner Terang-Mortlake overcame bogy side Koroit by 45 points for the first time in five attempts.
Geelong Amateurs reclaimed top spot in the Bellarine League with a 51-point win against Drysdale.
Doveton reaffirmed its favouritism in the Casey Cardinia division of the Mornington League with a 14.22 (106) to 9.8 (62) win against third-placed Narre Warren.
And in the Kyabram League, eighth-placed Violet Town upset unbeaten Undera by three points.
