Vic country district squad gears up for Canberra

vcflThe list of the following 45 players still make up the training squad for the Barooga Sports Club VCFL District Team that will compete in the Landmark Australian Country Football Carnival in Canberra between Thursday and Sunday next week (22nd - 25th).

A team of 25 players will be announced on Monday July 19th following the final training session at Harry Trott Reserve in Albert Park this Sunday morning.

Coach Ron Thomas said that there is still plenty of thought going into his final squad for the Landmark Australian Country Football Championships.

"We need to see how the guys come out of the weekend of club football before we put the names together for our touring party. We have a session on Sunday and all decisions will be made after that point."

"The new format of this Carnival will be fairly intense on the bodies of the players, and we want to make sure we have the full complement of fit players in the right positional mix that will allow us to compete at our maximum while in Canberra for the Carnival.", Thomas said.

The District League squad will be training at Harry Trott Reserve in Albert Park on Sunday 18th July from 10:30am.

All media are welcome to watch the coach and players go through their final paces.
