Coach Peter Knights was overjoyed at his teams performance,

"This has been the best possible conclusion of 10 weeks of work by all the guys in our team. To be crowned as National Champions, and to have represented the Big V with such distinction is an honour and a privilege. I am immensely proud of the spirit shown by our guys today and across the whole Carnival - they have been superb."

The 25 players from small towns across Victoria will return home fatigued but full of pride after representing Victoria District at the 2010 Landmark Australian Country Football Carnival. On the final day of competition, a fatigued Victoria Districts team completed their campaign losing to WA and NSW.

According to coach, Ron Thomas, the players gave everything they had during a tough three days of competition.

"On that first day we played super but we did drop away through absolute fatigue in the final games today. Unfortunately people only look at the scoreboard and don't see the effort that the boys put in. I believe the team played as well as they possibly could and the whole carnival was a great experience for them."

Glenn Scott offered his congratulations to all players and support staff involved in the 2010 campaign,

"Well done to all the players, coaches, and support staff on the way they have conducted themselves at the 2010 Landmark Carnival. They have been a credit to the WorkSafe VCFL, and I know all of them will be taking home fond memories, along with a few bruises, from their time at the Carnival."
