The best footballers from the country and the city will be assembled in Shepparton this weekend with the playing of the VCFL vs. VAFA representative matches.

The VAFA currently hold the Under 19 Challenge Cup, with the VCFL holding the other Cups. The Brian Molony Cup was won by the VCFL with the final kick of the match by Dave Clark at Junction Oval in 2009.

Hawthorn legend Peter Knights will again be coaching the VCFL Vic1 side who had such great success at the Australian Country Football Carnival in Canberra last year.

Long time assistant coach John Cossar takes the reins of the senior position of the Graincorp VCFL Vic2 team, while Damian Sexton continues to groom the best junior talent in country Victoria in the Under 19 squad.
The VCFL Vic1 team will have a final session on Wednesday night in Melbourne - any media are welcome and asked to call Jock Allan to organise interviews and photo opportunities. The VCFL Vic2 team will be holding a jumper presentation and team photo in Shepparton on Friday night - please call John Hallam on 0427 902 120 if you would like to attend.

Alberton FL - Kilcunda Bass has suffered its first defeat for the season at the hands of Yarram by 4 points. Yarram currently in 9th position

Central Murray FL - Mallee Eagles were another giant killer on the weekend taking care of Swan Hill. This leaves Tooleybuc-Manangatang clear on top in the Central Murray with Swan Hill, Kerang and Tyntynder a game behind.

Geelong FL - South Barwon also suffered their first loss of the season on the weekend. Colac the victors by a massive 61 points.

Geelong District - Bell Post Hill felt its first taste of defeat on the weekend. A 6 goal defeat against 4th placed Inverleigh has them level pegging with East Geelong for the minor premiership.

HDFL - Heathcote has had its winning run ended with LBU knocking them off the perch on the weekend. We said it was one to watch and LBU have sounded the warning bell for the powerhouse of the Heathcote League with a 53 point victory. LBU now clear on top of the ladder.

EJ Whitten Legend Match - Our Training & Education Manager, Dean Rice, is again pulling on the Big V on Tuesday night for the EJ Whitten Legends Game. Go Ricey!
