Bungaree’s Bryce Nicholson kicked a monumental 20 goals in his team’s huge 37 goal total to be the headline contribution from an action filled Round 13 in the Bendigo Bank Central Highlands Football League.
The big win over Beaufort has propelled Bungaree into the Final Five for the first time this year, leapfrogging Learmonth who struggled through the mud at home to overcome Clunes.
Elsewhere, Ballan fell short in a gutsy comeback against Dunnstown, helping the ‘Towners maintain a game break in 4th, Waubra returned to form with a big win over Creswick, Hepburn were too good for Buninyong, and Daylesford continued on its winning way, savaging Springbank to the tune of 123 points.
Newlyn notched up win number 6 for the year with a solid performance over Gordon.
Nicholson’s big bag saw him scoot to 2nd on the goal kickers list, overtaking Hepburn’s Lee Cox, and 4 goals behind leader Lee Brown of Waubra who returned to form himself, booting 11.
