JUSTINE FITZGIBBON

SOUTH BENDIGO

 

Justine Fitzgibbon, who married in March this year, hails from a long line of South Bendigo players. Given that she is amongst a fifth generation of Connaughton’s to represent the Bloods she literally has red and white running through her veins!

 

Justine’s BFNL career began in 1999 when influenced by her junior coach, Carol Bingham, to join her at Kangaroo Flat. After a one season stint with the Roos, Justine decided to stick with family tradition and joined South Bendigo, slotting into the A Grade team, a position she still holds. 

 

A regular member of the BFNL team over the years, Justine is now dipping her hand in the coaching aspect of the sport. Having coached the Bendigo Strikers senior team for the past two years and their 17 & Under team this year, beginning with a grand final berth at the Regional State League competition in April, Justine is coach of this year’s South Bendigo 17 & Under team.

 

With dad, Ken a former committee man and mum Marlene a current committee person, Justine is continuing the Connaughton tradition of giving to the club of time and expertise.
