Moama wins a thriller, LBU's winning run comes to an end and Aaron Purcell boots 18 goals for Jerilderie in our wrap-up of all the district football results.
Moama escaped with a dramatic win at home against Tongala today, prevailing 12.11 (83) to 11.15 (81).
The Blues looked set to claim their first win of the season when they had the momentum in the final term, but Jamarrah Firebrace snagged the match winner late in the quarter.
In a tight contest throughout, Moama kicked the first three goals of the game before Tongala dominated the rest of the opening term, but innacuracy only saw it lead by nine points.
The Magpies led by seven points at the final change before finally triumphing by two points, with Tyler Jones (four goals), Rhys Archard and Paul Nevill the team's best players. Lachie Schultz also kicked three goals.
Jordan Souter, Adam Lovison and Stephen Townsend were the Blues' best, with Andrew Reid and Elijah Edwards finishing with seven goals between them.
■ Echuca United rose to the top of the Murray Football League ladder after defeating previous ladder-leader Finley 13.9 (87) to 8.13 (61).
After a goalless opening term for both teams, the Eagles won the remaining three quarters to run out 26-point winners.
Russell Eden, Ryan Prendergast and Clayton Zanella were named United's best players, while Farran Priest (five goals) and Cameron Parker (three) were the best goal-kickers.
Jordan Daniel, Michael Littlejohn and Levi Middleton were the best for the Cats, with Steve Patten kicking three goals.
■ Barooga survived a second-half comeback from Numurkah to win 15.19 (109) to 13.18 (96).
The Hawks led by 32 points at half-time, before the Blues pushed hard to eventually lose by 13 points.
Davin Hall (six goals), Natthanial Nixon and Bo Nixon (four goals) were vital to the home team's triumph, while Chris Oliver, Jake Wilkinson and Brayden Sutton tried hard for the visitors. Tom Motlop kicked three goals.
■ Nathalia fell to its second consecutive loss as Mulwala continued its strong run, winning 17.10 (112) to 10.11 (71).
The Lions won every quarter i n the 41-point triumph, with Pat Fittock, Josh Hammond and Will Farrer (five goals) leading the way, while Troy Taylor booted three majors.
Jarrod Maskell, Jason Limbrick (four goals) and Ned Nihill impressed for the Purples.
■ Cobram recorded its highest score of the season but was still thumped by Rumbalara by 162 points, 34.22 (226) to 9.10 (64).
Brad Dick was best on for Rumba again, booting nine goals in a superb performance, with Nathan Terlich and the returning Ryan Hudson impressing.
Michael Clarke kicked five goals, while Rex Taylor, Justin Terlich, Hector Tipungwuti, Graham West and Leon Johnson all kicked three majors.
John Lucas, Michael Gilliland and Nick Hoban were the Tigers' best, while Blake Knight was reported for tripping Kevin Portaminni.
■ Deniliquin Rams kept in touch with the top six after defeating Congupna 11.12 (78) to 6.8 (44).
After a slow start, the Rams kept the Road to two goals for the first three quarters as they eased to the win, with Clayton Howe, Ricky Gittens and Todd Gallagher the best players, while Rob Resuggan kicked four goals.
Nathan Congram, Daniel Bowles and Ryan Barassi tried hard for the home side.
Congupna's Harry Moran was also reported for abusive language towards a goal umpire.

Echuca was blown away in the first half of its contest against Shepparton United, eventually falling 18.22 (130) to 7.7 (49).
The Demons had wrapped up the match by half-time when it led 91-19, with Brodie Ross (five goals), Ben Bingham and Brad Henderson the team's best players.
Tim Looby also kicked three goals.
Echuca improved in the second half, with Joel Magnabosco, Matt Pollock and Tom Stevens trying hard for the team.
■ Rochester threw away a 22-point three-quarter-time lead as Mansfield stormed home to win 14.7 (91) to 10.11 (71).
This was despite another eight-goal haul to Tigers forward Grant Weeks, with Ash Watson and Nathan McCarty the other players to impress for the home side.
Mitch Wareham and Matt and Travis Hine were the best for the Eagles, with Matt Storer finishing with three goals.
■ Kyabram proved too good for Seymour, triumphing 13.17 (95) to 7.8 (50).
The Bombers were in control throughout the day, led by Jason Morgan, Xavier Hilton and Brad Edwards, while Brett Meredith, Hugh Robertson and Harrison Wheeler were the best for the Lions.
Saad Saad was the leading goal-kicker for the day with three majors.
■ Shepparton put up a fight but Benalla was simply too strong, winning 17.15 (117) to 8.5 (53).
Only two points separated the teams at the first break, but the Saints went on to kick a further 13 goals to four.
Nik Rokahr, Sean Harrap and Xavier Stevenson were the best for the Bears.
No details were available for the Saints.
■ Shepparton Swans dominated the match against an abject Euroa performance, winning 20.14 (134) to 6.8 (44).
The home side kicked nine goals to one in the opening half and followed it up with a further 11 goals to five, with Mitch Bell, Tom Campbell and Quade Johnstone leading the way.
Brodie A'Vard was the leading goal-kicker with four majors, while Justin Maddern, Tyson Sidebottom and Josh Chapman kicked three each.
Adam Tarrant, Nathan Gilliland and Marcus Varley were the best for the Magpies.

Lockington-Bamawm United fell to its first defeat in 21 outings after North Bendigo made the most of its first-half lead to win 10.16 (76) to 8.12 (60).
The Bulldogs led 6.10 to 1.9 at the long break and held on for the win despite the lead being cut back to 18 points by the final break.
Tyson Findlay, Cameron Lomas and Brendan Jennings led the way for the home side, while Trent Bacon, Chris Hudson and Leigh Deledio tried hard for the Cats. Matt Deledio finished with three goals.
■ Kain Robins starred in the absence of Matt Gretgrix as Mt Pleasant booted seven last-quarter goals to defeat Leitchville-Gunbower 18.12 (120) to 14.12 (96).
Only seven points separated the teams at the final break but the home team proved too strong, with Koe Ngawati and Tim Hill also impressive.
Jye Keath, Jake Williams and Brad Perry were the best for the Bombers, while Marty Shadbolt kicked three goals.
■ Elmore was unable to secure its first win of the season despite leading by 19 points at half-time in its encounter against Huntly.
However, the Hawks held the visitors goalless in the second half as it ran out 14.20 (104) to 9.7 (61) winners.
Braidy Dickens (four goals), Adrian McErvale and Harry Whittle led the way for the home side, while Ben Henderson, John Piraina and Daniel Valvo tried hard for the Bloods, with James Harney kicking three goals.
■ White Hills produced a dominant performance to smash a deflated Heathcote side, winning 21.14 (140) to 4.10 (34).
The Demons led by 35 points at the long break before kicking 13 goals to one in the second half to run out 106-point winners.
Hayden Wright, Gavin Bowles, Charlie Bowyer, Ricky Symes and Alex Galea all kicked three goals for the home side, while Brad Wright was its best player.

Berrigan won its match against Mathoura in the first half as it finished 18.13 (121) to 11.6 (72).
The Saints had established a 54-point lead by the long break, before the Timbercutters just edged the second half.
Chris Patten, Jack Mynard (three goals) and Cameron Mynard were the best for the home side, with Kyle Johnstone and Ed Walliss adding five and three goals respectively.
Bryce Bish was the best performed for the visitors, with Beau Duggan-Hulands (six goals) also impressing along side Matt Giorgianni.
■ Aaron Purcell rediscovered some of the form which saw him kick 222 goals last year as he booted 18 majors for Jerilderie against the Deniliquin Rovers.
The Demons eventually won 34.27 (231) to 1.2 (8), with Chris Lockhart, Andrew May and Blair Henery the team's best.
Jak Payne also booted six goals.
Damien Hope, Brayden Jones and Matt Dowling tried hard for the Rams.
■ Strathmerton won every quarter in a strong match against Blighty, who had Brent Guerra making a one-off appearance, triumphing 17.15 (117) to 10.11 (71).
Zeke Bunge (three goals), Josh Evans and Brent Kirne led the way for the Bulldogs, with Shaun Downie also kicking three majors.
Sam Singleton, Judd Barnes and Tristan Wilson tried hard for the Redeyes, while Guerra finished with three goals.
■ Tocumwal kicked seven goals in the final quarter to run away with a 15.18 (108) to 10.5 (65) win against Yarroweyah.
Dylan Flanagan was the main beneficiary in attack, finishing with nine goals while Russell Sherriff kicked three.
Michael O'Riordan, Steven Poynton and Ken Chellew were the team's best, while Ben Soule, Jonathan Slatterie and Chase Saunders tried hard for the Grasshoppers.
Lucas Olson also finished with five goals.

Angus Grigg led Cohuna Kangas to its first win of the season with a seven-goal haul as it defeated Woorinen 12.9 (81) to 11.8 (74).
The win represented a good turnaround for the visitors, who trailed by 18 points at half-time.
Shannon Treacy and Shaun McIvor also impressed for the Kangas, while Mathew Pell, Aaron Cadd and Dayne Hamlyn were the best for the Tigers.
Jason Iannucci and Jamie Nicholas also kicked three goals each.
■ Koondrook-Barham kicked 10 goals to four in the second half as it ran out 16.18 (114) to 8.8 (56) winners against Lake Boga.
The Raiders were led by Jye Cousins, Ryan Evans (seven goals) and Michael Grant in the win, with Nathan Cunning, Oliver Rohde (three goals) and Brodie Bennett the best for the Magpies.
■ Troy Coates bagged 10 goals as Kerang continued its dominant season, defeating Tooleybuc-Manangatang 24.13 (157) to 10.11 (71).
Marc Reiffel also kicked three goals as Brent Taylor and Troy Thamm impressed for the Blues, while Stephen Lyons, Josh Stone and Michael Dedini tried hard for the Saints. Lee Cox also kicked three goals.
■ The final match saw Swan Hill boot 18 goals to six in the second half as it defeated NNW United 24.13 (157) to 12.7 (79).
Xavier Moloney (three goals), Callan Beasy and Hugh Foott (eight goals) led the way for the Swans, while Tobias Thoolen also kicked three goals.
Adrian Knee (five goals), Ben Sheridan and Stuart Polkinghorne were the best for the Demons.
