Ordinary second halves have been a constant issue this season for the Bloods, who after half-time have been outscored by an average of 51 points in their six games.

WHITE HILLS - back in the top five after last round’s 106-point belting of Heathcote at home. 

The Demons are now back on an even keel at 3-3 and have lifted their percentage above 100 for the first time this season.

You’d expect the Demons to win this clash against the bottom side and maintain their top-five position, but the Bloods shouldn’t be taken lightly.

LEITCHVILLE-GUNBOWER v NORTH BENDIGO - 2.15pm Saturday at Leitchville.

LEITCHVILLE-GUNBOWER - the Bombers started the season in ripping form with four wins, including three by more than 50 points.

However, they have hit a hurdle with back-to-back defeats to fellow top-five sides Mount Pleasant (24 points) and LBU (19) in their past two games, both which had been up for grabs at three quarter-time.

NORTH BENDIGO - co-coaches Neville Massina and Rob Bennett will have the Bulldogs on guard against a letdown after last round’s super win over reigning premier LBU.

Another difficult challenge awaits the Bulldogs when they face one of the toughest away trips to Leitchville.

Should be a cracker between second and fourth on the ladder.

LBU v HUNTLY - 2.15pm Saturday at Lockington.

Last time: Grand final, 2013: LBU 15.13 (103) d Huntly 6.9 (45).

Since 2001: LBU 26; Huntly 2.

LBU - it hasn’t happened too often in recent years, but LBU heads into Saturday’s grand final rematch against Huntly on the rebound from a defeat.

The Cats lost to North Bendigo by 16 points last round to end a 20-game winning streak.

Saturday’s clash with the in-form Hawks continues a challenging run of matches.

HUNTLY - the Hawks have worked their way back into the season nicely after their slow start.

Last year’s grand finalists lost their first three matches, but have now bounced back with three wins on the trot.

Captain Braidy Dickens and youngster Harry Whittle continue to led the way for the sixth-placed Hawks.

HEATHCOTE v COLBINABBIN - 2.15pm Saturday at Huntly.

Last time: Round 15, 2013: Colbinabbin 17.15 (117) d Heathcote 12.16 (88).

Since 1995: Colbinabbin 25; Heathcote 21.

HEATHCOTE - footy always goes in cycles, and for the Saints, it’s their turn to struggle.

Haven’t missed the finals since 2004, but have fallen away this season with no wins and already three defeats by more than 100 points.

To give that some context, before this year, Heathcote hadn’t lost a game by more than 100 points since 2005.

COLBINABBIN - an extended break for the Grasshoppers, who also had the bye before last week’s inter-league break.

Defeated White Hills by 17 points in their last match to win their second and keep within four points of the top five.

With their next two games against the winless Heathcote and Elmore, should get to the mid-season turn at 4-4.
