 Victoria Metro and Victoria Country have confirmed their squads to compete at the 2022 NAB AFL National Championships - U18 Boys.

The 2022 NAB AFL National Championships - U18 Boys commences this weekend, with the opening match to be played between South Australia and the Allies at Adelaide’s Thebarton Oval on Sunday June 19.

Victoria Metro and Victoria Country will start their campaigns next weekend, with Metro travelling to Blacktown International Sports Park to play the Allies on Saturday June 25, while Country takes on South Australia at Thebarton Oval on Sunday June 26.

The two Victorian sides will each play three matches throughout June and July, before concluding the Championships with a Victoria Metro v Victoria Country showdown in September.

Eight players from the 2022 NAB AFL Academy feature in the Victoria Metro squad, including Will Ashcroft, Alwyn Davey, Matthew Jefferson, Harry Sheezel, Luke Teal, Elijah Tsatas, George Wardlaw and Nick Watson.

Victoria Country has seven Academy members in its squad. They are Aaron Cadman, Jhye Clark, Zane Duursma, Oliver Hollands, Henry Hustwaite, Harley Reid and Mitch Szybkowski.

Additional players may be included to the Victoria Metro and Victoria Country squads for the match scheduled between the two teams in September.

Oakleigh Chargers head coach Jason Davenport has been appointed coach of Victoria Metro, while Geelong Falcons head coach Paul Corrigan will lead Victoria Country.
