Bell Park recruit Rachel Rodger is a painful sight after copping a stray elbow to the face in the Dragons' win over St Joseph's at the weekend.

She is unsure whose elbow caught her on the point of the nose but confirmed it was an accident.

"It happened pretty quickly," she said. "I was running back to get the intercept and the ball just went over my head and my opponent got it. When she caught the ball and brought her arms down, the point of her elbow caught the top of my nose.

"It was accidental but it was pretty high contact. It obviously connected pretty hard, and it hurt straight away, and I thought it was hit too hard to not bleed and sure enough it started bleeding."

Rodger must wait a week for the swelling to subside before she receives any further treatment.
