Match Reviews | NEWBRIDGE and Mitiamo won hard-fought matches in Saturday’s eighth round of A-grade netball across the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL competition.
The in-form Newbridge marked a 41-37 win against Bears-Lagoon Serpentine at Deepcore Drilling Riverside Oval.
Victory ensured the Selina Holland and Kristy Gandy-coached Newbridge held fourth place on the ladder and surged four points clear of the Bears.
It was a much stronger performance by the Danielle O’Toole and Lara Clements-coached Bears Lagoon Serpentine which will play Calivil United at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve next Saturday.
The winning run for Mitiamo rolled on as the Superoos scored a 61-51 win against Marong at Mitiamo’s John Forbes Oval.
A Superoos team which has Abbey Battersby and Jess Kaur as co-coaches has shown it’s going to be tough to stop in its charge at back-to-back premierships.
Big test for the Bridget Willox-coached Marong which will host Newbridge at Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park next Saturday.
Pyramid Hill passed the 90-goal mark in its home game at Mitchell Park against Calivil United
