Match Reviews | THE unbeaten Kangaroo Flat showed it will be tough to beat for the A-grade netball title as it beat Gisborne in Saturday’s eighth round in the Bendigo Bank Bendigo FNL season.
In a rematch of last September’s grand final it was Kangaroo Flat which bound its way to a 51-43 victory on Gisborne’s court in Gardiner Reserve.
The Jayden Cowling has beaten the reigning premier in both contests this season.
Although disappointed with the result the Tarryn Rymer-coached Gisborne was far more competitive after the Roos won the first-round match at Dower Park by 28 goals.
After a run of three defeats and a draw, South Bendigo returned to the winner’s list on Saturday.
The Lauren Bowles-coached South Bendigo netted a 59-49 victory on Strathfieldsaye Storm’s court at Triple M Park in Tannery Lane.
It was a crucial victory for the Bloods who are now six points clear of Golden Square in the fight for a top-five finish and appearance in the finals series.
The Jess Mangan-coached Storm makes its way to Queen Elizabeth Oval next Saturday to play Sandhurst which had the bye on Saturday.
Eaglehawk bounced back from defeat in the seventh round to mark a 54-40 win against Golden Square on the Borough’s court in Canterbury Park.
