Heathcote District FNLMatch Reviews | A VASTLY improved Lockington Bamawm United Cats outplayed Leitchville Gunbower to win the A-grade netball match in Saturday’s 15th round in Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL netball.

Playing on its court at Nichol Trading Oval, Lockington Bamawm United led 8-5 at quarter-time and then took charge in the second.

As the Kerryn Giorgianni and Shelby Stone-coached LBU Cats poured in 13 goals in term two it held the Bombers to tally of seven goals.

The Grant Matthews-coached Leitchville Gunbower fought back strongly to win the third quarter, 10-5.

LBU steadied in the final term to win it, 10-5, and the match, 36-27.

It was a crucial match between Mount Pleasant and the Winslow Constructors White Hills Demons at Toolleen.

A 52-44 win for the Elly Lawton-coached Demons meant it moved to second on the ladder and gained a possible psychological edge on the Blues as the teams are likely to meet in the finals.

Despite the defeat the Anthea McCleary-coached Mounts is eight points clear of Huntly in the fight for a top-three finish and double chance at finals time.

It was Memorial Day for Heathcote FNC as the Saints played Elmore at Pigeon Park in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve.
