The Early Crow

Wimmera FNLWeekly Advertiser | Three out of four Wimmera league A Grade netball games were decided by three goals or less on Saturday.

Warrack Eagles scored a one-goal win over Ararat, Southern Mallee Thunder drew with Stawell 42-all, and Horsham Demons defeated Dimboola 45-42 to round out an epic round four.

The only blow-out margin was Horsham Saints’ 81-39 win over Nhill.

The Eagles’ 49-48 win came after a close game throughout – with just one-goal margins at half-time and three-quarter time.

Warrack Eagles coach Sarah Spicer said she was pleased with the four-quarter effort from her team.

“ I was just happy that we were in it – I felt like this was a really big game for us, and if we could go close to them, it’s good signs for us for the rest of the year because we’re building from the bottom and trying to get back up again,” she said.

“Ararat is a very good side, so I wasn’t focused on the score until the last half of the last quarter and then got really nervous and a bit stressed.
