The Early Crow

Wimmera FNLWeekly Advertiser | A 20-goal second quarter propelled Horsham Demons to a strong 58-41 win over Warrack Eagles to secure second spot on the Wimmera league A Grade ladder.

Playing at city oval, Horsham led at every change as goal-shooter Imogen Worthy dominated in the goal circle to shoot 40 goals for the match.

With captain Ebonie Salter out injured, Ginger Short stepped into the goal-keeper position with distinction, while Jorja Jones in wing defence also led the way for the Demons, who now have two weeks off – through a club bye and then the league bye on the King’s Birthday weekend.

For the Eagles, wing-defence Maddie Okely, and centre Emma Koschitzke were best.

Dimboola scored an eight-goal win over Nhill, who came back late in the game to close the margin.

The Roos led by 16 at the last change but only scored six goals in the fourth quarter to finish the game 51-43.
