Match Reviews | EAGLEHAWK kept the heat on in the fight to claim fifth place on the A-grade netball ladder in Saturday’s seventh round in the Bendigo Bank Bendigo FNL season.
The Hawks met the Castlemaine Magpies in the Indigenous Round match at C & M Oval in Eaglehawk’s Canterbury Park.
An Eaglehawk team coached by Janelle Hobbs was determined to net its second win of the season.
The Two Blues had not claimed premiership points since a 72-39 victory against Golden Square at Canterbury Park in round two.
Since that triumph the Hawks had been defeated by Kangaroo Flat, South Bendigo, Strathfieldsaye, and Gisborne.
Eaglehawk controlled most of the play on its way to a 56-33 win against the Vanessa Saunders-coached Castlemaine.
It was a high scoring match at Gourmet Pantry Oval in Wade Street where Golden Square hosted South Bendigo.
The Teigan Redwood-coached Golden Square worked hard to rack up 53 goals, but it was the Bloods who led by 15 goals at the final siren.
Was a strong performance by the Lauren Bowles-coached South Bendigo as it bounced back from a 13-goal loss to Sandhurst on Graeme Wright Memorial day on May 16 at Kennington.
