Weekly Advertiser | Warrack Eagles have slipped into the top five of Wimmera league A Grade after a 28-21 win over Southern Mallee Thunder on Saturday.
Captain Emma Koschitzke led from the front, controlling the centre court while Isabella Orszulak was dominant in goal defence.
The Eagles led marginally at every change but took control in the fourth term to extend their margin to eight goals.
For the Thunder, defenders Sydney Thorogood and Connie Rule were named best.
In the closest match in A Grade in round seven, Ararat scored a 46-43 win over Nhill.
Jess Taylor, playing at wing attack and centre, was crucial for the Rats, while fellow midcourter Kiarna Taylor also played an important role as the home side led by just one goal at the main break before edging out to a three-goal margin, which they were able to hold to finish off the game.
Horsham Saints continued on their winning way, scoring a 28-goal win over Stawell, with goal-shooter Jorja Clode shooting a staggering 73 goals.
Clode and Maddi Bethune, in goal defence, were the standouts for the Saints, who took home a 85-57 win.
For Stawell, the ever-consistent duo of Lisa Considine, who played most of the match in wing defence, and co-coach Jemma Clarkson, who started at her usual wing attack position before moving to goal attack where she shot 14 goals, were named best.
