Weekly Advertiser | Laharum has grabbed the mantle of premiership favouritism in the Horsham District league A Grade netball competition after defeating Edenhope-Apsley in a top-of-the-ladder clash on Saturday.

Played amid persistent rain at Edenhope Recreation Reserve, the game saw Laharum grab an early lead and maintain it until the final whistle.

The Demons led by six goals at quarter time, seven at half time and 13 at the final break before the Saints trimmed the margin in the last for a 61-53 final result.

Excelling in the wet conditions was Caitlin Jones-Story, who missed only four goal attempts all afternoon, hitting 33 of her 37 attempts.

Jones-Story’s fellow goalie Ilze Van Zyl was also deadly accurate, hitting 28 of her 32 shots for the afternoon.
